CSF cytology showed numerous abnormal promyelocytes with prominent cytoplasmic primary granules, some of these cells exhibit butterfly-shaped or bilobed nuclei (Wright-Giemsa stain, panel A; original magnification ×200, panel B; original magnification ×1000).
